I think any place we can tear down old half burned buildings and make lush, edible gardens the better off we will all be .We all need to stop depending on others for life sustaining resources….

The comment about 2 full service grocery stores in Detroit is completely wrong. Please get your facts straight instead of stating blatent lies.

This was a really interesting story about urban gardening in Detroit. Reading it made me somewhat sad because of what I already know to be the truth about the virtual absence of major grocery stores in Detroit – especially when compared to the suburbs – but it also exhibiteda lot about the Detroit spirit. Even in the midst of it all, a garden grows.
