Touted as some of springtime’s best eating, the asparagus season in Michigan is winding down.

Mid-Michigan growers and officials of the Michigan Asparagus Committee say a combination of warm days and cold nights made it a near-perfect season for growing and harvesting the popular vegetable. It’s expected to continue for several more weeks.
