One of my best friends growing up lived right next door to Lund's, and we would play around in there.

There's not much online, but I did find E.K Lund Preacher Artist Magician Centenarian from the blog Dull Tool Dim Bulb that has a postcard of some of the art and this:

Lund's Scenic Garden of ten acres in Michigan included these life-size figures propped up among the pines. Mr. Lund was a minister, artist and professional magician. His best trick was living to the age of 100, but he died in 1999. The garden, which was located between Leland and Glen Arbor, MI has been dismantled.

I well reall Lund Scenic Garden as a place our family took visitors to visit in the 1950's.
My Dad was a Methodist pastor and we lived in Frankfort MI. It was something of a trip to go to Lund's but we did it. seeing the Garden at night was a special effect.

I clicked through to the HAL site, and they had someone named Dexie Franklin and her pasty recipe on it as part of Michigan's Roadside attractions. I applaud her effort, but a properly made U.P. style pasty doesn't ever contain a turnip. They are made with rutabagas. I would hope that the our state government would get things factually correct!
