		<description><![CDATA[As someone in the internet biz, this is an issue that really concerns me. If things ever get to the point where the access providers can dictate who sees what, people like me and sites like Absolute Michigan will be out of business in a hurry as there is no way I can negotiate a deal with Comcast AND AT&amp;T AND SBC AND Whoever Else.
On the broader stage, I think that the whole Net Neutrality debate is going to be a huge issue over the next several years and I think that with a strong Google presence and a lot of rural and urban poor areas, Michigan will make an excellent proving ground for developing the future of the internet. While I wish Michigan was in a position to be able to dictate terms on this vital issue, I think the Gov (and legislators) made the only choice they could. One advantage for us may be that the telcos will try and be on their best behavior in MI to convince other state governments that they can be trusted. We&#039;ll see...]]></description>
