The latest featured photo from our Absolute Michigan group was taken 364 days ago by James Phelps. Be sure to also visit his JMP Photography web site! It’s a photo of the Laughing Whitefish Falls, a state scenic site. You can get bare-bones information from the Michigan DNR, but you can waste a lot more time clicking off to all of Michigan’s other waterfalls at Go Waterfalling’s page about the Laughing Whitefish Falls (and read more like this):
Laughing Whitefish Falls is in the Laughing Whitefish Scenic Site. This is one of the most impressive of Michigan’s waterfalls. I believe it is the highest waterfall in Michigan that is readily visitable.
The falls can be found off of M-94, about 30 miles from Munising or Marquette, and just outside of Chatham … The waterfall is a long slide. It looks bigger in person than in the pictures.
So goodbye to the bus. Good bye to payin’ dues.
Goodbye to the cheers, and goodbye to the booze.
Well I’m trading in this old bat, for a fishing pole.
I’m gonna let the Laughing River, flow right into my soul.
