The Daily Michigan: 2 tickets to the Spring Sip & Savor wine tour
Today on The Daily Michigan we have a pair of tickets to a great Michigan wine event – the annual Spring Sip & Savor Wine Tour on the Leelanau Peninsula.
The tour is presented by the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association and takes place every year on the weekend before Mother’s Day (May 5 -6, 2012) and makes a great gift. Like all their wine trail tours, Sip & Savor features food & wine pairings at 19 wineries. With choices like pound cake topped with strawberry honey butter paired with Rose of Cabernet Franc or roasted salmon chowder and Pinot Gris, it’s hard to go wrong.
This year the event also features the “Sip-o de Mayo Hat Contest” with prizes awarded in categories like “Biggest Hat” and “Most Eye-Catching Hat” at every winery. There’s also a grand prize that includes two nights lodging at The Homestead, dinner for two with appetizers and dessert at La Becasse, Sunday brunch for two at the Bluebird, a wood-fired pizza from the Hearth & Vine Cafe at Black Star Farms and a pair of tickets to any of their Weekend wine tours or the Traverse City Wine & Art Festival!
