We wrote this app to help people learn more about the Michigan wineries and to encourage them to visit the tasting rooms.
~Shannon Casey, Michigan By the Bottle
It’s probably fitting that the first app we review is from our friends over at Michigan By the Bottle. Their new Michigan By the Bottle app was released yesterday (Dec 14) for iPhone/iPad. The app was developed by Sutro Media and is available for download for $2.99 in the iTunes store.
At the heart of this app are profiles of all of Michigan’s 75+ wineries that feature maps, photos, MBTB- â€recommended wines, contact information, tasting room policies and links to related articles, videos and podcasts on the MBTB website. One of the coolest features is that via the map, you can see what wineries are near you, check them out to see if they’ve got what you’re looking for and then easily navigate to them using the iPhone’s GPS. My company manages the Leelanau Peninsula wine trail, and with all the twists and turns of our trail, that feature alone is worth the $3!
