July is Michigan Craft Beer Month, and our brewing industry contributes over $24 million in wages with a total economic contribution of more than $133 million. In terms of overall number breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs, Michigan ranks #6 in the nation â€“ thus supporting its claim as â€œThe Great Beer State.â€ The Michigan Brewers Guild encourages you to visit brewpubs and microbreweries and to ask for and purchase Michigan craft beer at retail outlets and restaurants.
Another way to celebrate is at Michigan’s oldest and largest beer festival, the annual Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti. The festival takes place at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti Friday July 23rd from 5-9 PM andSaturday, July 24th from 1-6 PM. It will feature more than 300 different beers from more than 50 different Michigan breweries.
Advanced tickets may be purchased online at www.michiganbrewersguild.org, participating member breweries and select retail locations around the state or by calling 877-772-5425. Attendees must be 21 or older to attend. Designated driver tickets are available online and at the gate for $5 each.
