As the buy local revolution continues to build steam we are seeing more and more farmers markets popping up around the state. This is a great situation for such an agriculturally based state and it shows that there is not only a great demand for the products but also a desire to support our local farmers.

The Michigan House of Representatives passed a resolution last week naming Thursday, September 18, 2008 the fourth annual “Buy Fresh, Buy Local – Select Michigan Day,” and to celebrate, there will be a special “Select Michigan Day” farmers market from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the east lawn of the State Capitol.
