Fall is here and that means it is once again time to enjoy Michigan's largest and most valuable crop - the apple. 2009 is seeing the largest harvest in nearly 10 years with an expected haul of 26 million bushels compared to the typical crop of 20 million bushels. Porkapalooza Invitational Cookout & Music Festival Celebrates the Bounty of the Great Lakes
A day-long celebration of hog-proportion once again takes over the 14-acre Red Horse Ranch in Fennville on Saturday, October 3. The PORKAPALOOZA Invitational Cookout & Music Festival is a farm party and harvest celebration, running from Noon to Midnight (rain or shine), showcasing the bounty of the Great Lakes’ in terms of food, drink, music, art and land.

"Select Michigan" Farmer's Market ~ September 17, State Capitol Lawn
In celebration of Michigan's rich agricultural history and farming tradition, Governor Granholm has designated September 13-19 "Select Michigan Week." In celebration of this special week, the Governor is personally inviting you to the "Select Michigan" Farmers' Market on Thursday, September 17, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., which will be located on the east lawn of the State Capitol, rain or shine.
